What is an Arizona Bonded Title?

In a situation where your title is lost, damaged or stolen, you might have the option to receive a bonded title. This title is similar to a regular title as it allows you to register, insure and sell the car in your name.

What does it mean when the title to my car is “bonded?”

This simply means that the title has a surety bond attached to it.

What is a Surety Bond?

A surety bond is a contract that guarantees you will fulfill your tasks and obligations.

What do I need in order to receive a Bonded Title?

You will need a Bonded Title Affidavit, Lien Release and Emissions Test.

What Does It Cost?

You will pay a small percentage of the bond amount as the premium for the title bond. Arizona bonded title premiums will have a $100 minimum. For bonds with a penalty over $7,000, the premium is 1.5%. For bonds with a premium over $25,000, in some cases a credit check will be performed by the insurance company.
